Capital District Physicians' Health Plan, Inc. (CDPHP(TM)) Renews Contract for Business and Medical Intelligence Systems - ikaHEDIS and ikaProfyle Reporting Systems Stabilize Professional and Performance Expenses

Posted on: Tuesday, 20 September 2005, 12:00 CDT

ikaSystems Corporation, a leading provider of web-based, enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions for the healthcare industry, today announced that CDPHP--a not-for-profit, physician-directed health plan in Albany, New York--renewed the contracts for the ikaHEDIS and ikaProfyle systems.

ikaHEDIS incorporates Health Plan Employer Data and Information Set (HEDIS(R)) standards to provide expert evaluation of PCPs and health plans in the form of comprehensive "report cards." ikaProfyle performs rigorous risk analysis and physician profiling to provide standardized evaluations that compare primary care providers (PCPs) and networks in terms of quality of care and cost.

Since implementing ikaSystems' technology in 2000 Medicaid membership at CDPHP has increased 16.55%. Plus, medical expenses per member per month (PMPM) have decreased 7.27% in five years.

"Contracting physicians based on utilization data--such as PMPM--is a healthy sign for healthcare organizations," says Dr. Solomon J. Zak, M.D., Vice President, Business and Medical Intelligence for ikaSystems. "Healthcare organizations will start to see a turnaround in cost savings and quality of care immediately after implementation of ikaProfyle and ikaHEDIS," adds Dr. Zak.
