Advocat Receives Five National Quality Awards From American Healthcare Association

Advocat Inc. (NASDAQ OTC:AVCA) today announced that five of its long-term care facilities were recognized with National Quality Awards by the American Healthcare Association (AHCA).
"We had five facilities recognized with Step I awards by the American Healthcare Association," stated William R. Council, III, Chief Executive Officer of Advocat. "Eligibility for these national awards includes at least a three-year history of excellence in quality care, staff and residents' satisfaction, and regulatory compliance. We had four facilities recognized by AHCA last year and the addition of these five awards in 2005 highlights our continued commitment to providing quality healthcare for our residents."

Ash Flat Nursing and Rehabilitation Center - Ash Flat, Arkansas Des Arc Nursing and Rehabilitation Center - Des Arc, Arkansas Cedar Hills Healthcare Center - Jacksonville, Florida Golfcrest Healthcare Center - Hollywood, Florida Golfview Healthcare Center - St. Petersburg, Florida

The AHCA awards are based on the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award criteria and have three levels of awards for nursing homes. Step I awards are the first recognition level in the process.
