Colorado Extends Deal With ACS for Child Health Program Support

Posted on: Thursday, 22 September 2005, 18:00 CDT

The state of Colorado's Department of Health Care Policy and Financing has awarded a one-year, $3.8 million contract extension to Affiliated Computer Services Inc. for continued support for the Child Health Plan Plus program, the company announced.

Under the contract, ACS of Dallas will provide multilingual call center services to providers and members who need information about application and eligibility processes. ACS will also process applications, determine eligibility, collect premium payments, manage complaints and appeals processes, handle correspondence and administer a Web site for the program.

The deal is an extension of the agency contract awarded to ACS in 2003 to support enrollment of uninsured children in the program, which targets children from birth to 18 years of age in families with incomes at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level.

Under a separate contract, ACS currently serves as the fiscal agent for the Colorado Medicaid program and performs pharmacy benefits management services for the state.

Ethan Butterfield is a staff writer for Government Computer News' sister publication, Washington Technology.
