Misys Healthcare Systems, a market leader in healthcare IT, today announced that Riverview Hospital has signed a multi-million dollar contract for Misys CPR, an industry-leading computer-based patient record solution. Riverview will use Misys CPR to provide higher quality patient care while improving efficiencies and controlling costs.
"Riverview Hospital is committed to harnessing the power of technology to provide the best healthcare possible. Misys CPR allows us to reach our strategic goal of building an interactive community health record by connecting providers and patients," said Randy Cox, CIO of Riverview Hospital. "Misys demonstrated more than any other vendor a flexible, powerful technology solution, a passion for true partnership and a shared vision of a community-based health record."
Riverview Hospital's 1,100 employees and physicians and 19 clinics will have real-time, Web-based access to comprehensive patient information to aid in decision support at all points of care. Misys CPR will enable Riverview to electronically communicate and coordinate care throughout the patient visit, starting with scheduling to clinical care to discharge. Misys CPR is integrated with Misys Data Warehouse, an online outcomes measurement system, Misys Laboratory, Misys Radiology and Misys Pharmacy IMM, an integrated closed-loop medication management solution. As a result, Riverview will save time, better manage information and improve the quality of care for the 6,500 inpatients and 21,000 ER patients it treats annually.
"The partnership between Riverview Hospital and Misys Healthcare Systems is a significant step in improving our already excellent level of patient care, information management and customer service," said Dr. John Paris, chief medical officer of Riverview Hospital. "We hope to use this powerful system to integrate financial, medical and organizational management for the benefit of the citizens of Hamilton County."
Thousands of patients and doctors benefit from Misys CPR, which provides a single, integrated computer-based patient record solution with a comprehensive suite of modules that help caregivers achieve best practices. Misys CPR is a cornerstone of the industry-leading Misys Optimum solution, a family of clinical products and Web-based technologies designed from the ground up to share patient data across all medical care settings.
"Misys Healthcare Systems recognizes Riverview Hospital's commitment to improving the quality of patient care while controlling costs," said Andrew Lawson, president of Misys Healthcare Systems' hospital systems business unit. "Misys is a committed partner and we will continue to support Riverview's best medical and operational practices to ensure effective decision making at the point of care."
Misys will be collaborating with Keane, Inc., chosen by Riverview for their Patcom Patient Accounting Solution, to provide a solution which drives both the hospital's clinical and financial goals.
