Should Health Trusts Merge?
Posted on: Tuesday, 4 October 2005, 06:00 CDT
Three mental-health trusts are consulting the public on whether they should merge.
South of Tyne and Wearside Mental Health NHS Trust, Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland Mental Health NHS Trust and Northgate and Prudhoe NHS Trust say they have "decided there may be advantages in bringing all these services together and that they should launch a formal consultation".
Eleven public meetings are taking place, in North Shields, Morpeth, Newcastle, Gateshead, Whickham, South Shields, Jarrow, Sunderland, Washington and Durham, in the next two months.
Copies of the merger document and details of the meetings can be found on any of the trusts' websites.
Comments can be sent to Jan Forster, Wellfield Mews, Cherry Knowle Hospital, Ryhope, Sunderland SR2 ONB or emailed to consultation@ntw.nhs.uk
