Posted on: Thursday, 6 October 2005, 09:00 CDT
On Monday, October 10, The California Family Health Council, Inc. (CFHC) will launch "Talk With Your Kids," a new effort to keep kids healthy and safe by helping parents talk with their children about sex.
"Talk With Your Kids" will provide parents with information and resources they need to help young people make healthy decisions about sexual behavior. A new website and blog, www.talkwithyourkids.org, as well as printed materials will provide "tip and fact sheets" and offer links to other resources to inform and assist parents and others. CFHC is also training community health providers to work effectively with parents to encourage healthy conversations about sex. (Materials are available in English and Spanish.)
"Talk With Your Kids" is being launched in October in conjunction with National Family Sexuality Information Month. Additional information, including a video news release produced by CFHC (in English and Spanish) will be available at www.talkwithyourkids.org on Monday, October 10. A Beta SP version of the news release is available to broadcast news organizations on request. For information or assistance please contact John McDonald at john.mcdonald@stonesthro.com or by phone, 310-798-3252.
"Talk With Your Kids" is a project of The California Family Health Council, Inc., a nonprofit organization working to improve the quality of and access to family planning and reproductive health services.
