Callisto CEO Dr. Gary Jacob Discusses Research Progress on New Anti-Cancer Drug Candidates in Interview With WallSt.Net; Company Chief to Provide Corporate Overview of KAL's Drug Development Programs

Callisto Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (AMEX:KAL) (FWB:CA4), a developer of new drug therapies in the fight against hematologic cancers and related diseases, has announced the online availability of an audio interview given by CEO/CSO Dr. Gary S. Jacob to online investor information service, WallSt.net, in which he discusses the Company's pipeline of drug development programs, including anti-cancer drugs designed to treat patients with leukemia and multiple myeloma.

Annamycin, a drug with a novel therapeutic profile is being developed as a therapy for patients with relapsed leukemia. Dr. Jacob also discusses Callisto's preclinical programs to develop drugs for ulcerative colitis, as well as the Company's homeland security research program focused on the development of a drug to protect against staphylococcus and streptococcus biowarfare agents.

The FDA has designated Annamycin and Atiprimod as "orphan drugs." Commercial advantages of that designation include marketing exclusivity protection when the drugs are approved for use.
