Posted on: Tuesday, 11 October 2005, 09:01 CDT

American Bio Medica Corporation (NASDAQ:ABMC) today announced that the San Francisco Fire Department has selected ABMC to be their sole provider of drug testing devices and support services. This new client will be using the ABMC OralStat that detects the presence or absence of six different drugs of abuse in saliva, and they will be using the device for post-accident and random drug testing of their 1,600 firefighters.

ABMC Chief Executive Officer Stan Cipkowski stated, "We are absolutely thrilled to be working with an organization of the caliber of the San Francisco Fire Department. This is the first time such a program has been implemented in the San Francisco fire department, and we are pleased that after evaluating the products and services of many companies, they chose ABMC to be their supplier of drug testing devices."

San Francisco Fire Department Executive Officer Pete Howe commented, "We looked extensively at a number of drug testing products and decided that ABMC's OralStat was state of the art and would best serve the needs of our department."
