Walgreens Home Care Accredited By Joint Commission

DEERFIELD, Ill., Oct. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- By demonstrating compliance with healthcare quality and safety standards by which all healthcare organizations are assessed, Walgreens Home Care, Inc. was awarded accreditation from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) for all of its locations in Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wisconsin. The accreditation for pharmacy, home medical equipment, nursing and respiratory services lasts for a three-year period ending in 2008.

JCAHO is the nation's oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in healthcare. Through the provision of healthcare accreditation, JCAHO encourages healthcare organizations to improve their standard of safety and to increase the quality of healthcare they provide to the public. JCAHO evaluates more than 15,000 healthcare organizations in the United States, including more than 7,800 hospital and home care organizations.
