Tour Charity Hospital EMEDS Units; EMEDS Will Serve As an Interim Trauma Hospital in New Orleans

WHAT: Come tour the United States Military EMEDS units that will serve as Charity Hospital until a new Charity Hospital is built. This tour will be led by Cathi Fontenot, Medical Director for Charity and University Hospitals and Jim Aiken, ER Physician at Charity Hospital.
The EMEDS units will be set up and operational beginning today, Oct. 11.
EMEDS, Expeditionary Medical Support Systems, are small deployable hospitals capable of serving large populations, providing emergency medical and surgical care capabilities along with public health and bio-environmental support.
WHEN: Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 10 a.m. Central Time
WHERE: The e-med units will be set up in the parking lot adjacent to University Hospital, located at 515 South Johnson Street, New Orleans.
