Bentley Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NYSE: BNT), a technology-based specialty pharmaceutical and drug delivery company with a growing branded and generic product line in Europe, today announced that it has been ranked number 76 by Forbes as one of America's 200 Best Small Companies.
The Forbes list includes companies with annual revenues between $5 million and $750 million, net profit margins exceeding 5%, and a fair market value above $5 per share as of September 29, 2005. Financial institutions, REITs and utilities are excluded from the list. The companies included on the list are ranked not only on the current and historical financial performance, but also on other non-financial indicators including, but not limited to corporate governance, Board of Director membership and Executive and Director compensation relative to applicable stock index. The Los Angeles firm of William O'Neil & Company provided Forbes with its accounting services in assessing these qualifications.
John A. Sedor, president of Bentley, said, "We are very pleased with this recognition by Forbes. What is particularly gratifying is the fact that the Forbes ranking combines our financial results and growth over the past five years with certain non-financial objective criteria. Inclusion in this listing is a tribute to the hard work and dedication of all of Bentley's employees in recent years."
Mr. Sedor added, "Coming on the heels of a FORTUNE magazine listing as one of America's 100 Fastest- Growing Companies, we are honored to be included in this list as well. We look forward to realizing our goals of continued expansion in Europe through our pending product approvals and license agreements and the execution of our expansion plan for the US which includes the introduction of our generic products into the US marketplace and the discovery and implementation of new drug delivery technologies."
