Crider Center for Mental Health, a not-for-profit community mental health organization, recently accepted a $32,000 grant toward the purchase of a wheelchair-accessible minivan from the Greater St. Louis Health Foundation. The agency also received a grant from Target for the Family Assistance Team of the Partnership with Families Program. The Crider Center for Mental Health will use the van to transport individuals participating in the Transitional Employment Program through the Harmony Clubhouse located in Washington, Mo
. The purpose of Harmony Clubhouse is to provide a safe and pleasant environment where adult consumers of mental health services are needed. As a part of the services to clubhouse members, the Transitional Employment Program allows for the members to gain valuable work experience through collaboration with local businesses. Target gives back more than $2 million a week to its local communities through grants and special programs. A portion of this donation will assist Crider Center's Family Assistance Team, a component of the Partnership with Families program, which works closely with youth, assisting them to reach for and obtain their goals using a strength-based approach. The Crider Center for Mental Health is a key resource to the counties of Lincoln, Warren, St. Charles and Franklin in providing a vast array of services, such as intensive in-home based services for those living with serious and persistent mental illness.Source: St. Charles County Business Record
