John Baackes Named to Massachusetts Association of Health Plans Board of Directors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Senior Whole Health's new CEO, John Baackes, was recently appointed to the Massachusetts Association of Health Plans Board of Directors. Mr. Baackes was named CEO of Senior Whole Health in May of this year.
The Massachusetts Association of Health Plans (MAHP) is a non-profit organization committed to promoting the development and value of health plans in Massachusetts. Its mission and vision are to improve health for all in Massachusetts by promoting affordable, safe and coordinated healthcare and to create trust in the value that health plans contribute to the healthcare system.
Senior Whole Health's mission is to maximize the quality of life, health, and independence of its members. Senior Whole Health (SWH) is an innovative health care plan for people who are 65 years old or older who qualify for MassHealth and who live in the Senior Whole Health service area. People who are 65 years old or older who have both MassHealth and Medicare are also eligible.
Mr. Baackes joined SWH after serving as Senior Vice President of Group Health Incorporated of New York. There he led their for-profit HMO subsidiary and grew it to $130m in revenue. Previous to that, he was President of Kaiser Permanente Northeast Division. He was also President of Community Health Plan in Latham, NY, which grew to a three state operation under his direction.
