Posted on: Sunday, 23 October 2005, 12:00 CDT
The tri-county health department for Daggett, Duchesne and Uintah counties began offering the flu vaccine Monday for people in high- risk groups such as young children, the elderly and the chronically ill.
On Tuesday, the health department for those counties will offer the vaccine to the public. In the meantime, the department suggests that to avoid catching the flu virus, people avoid close contact with those who are sick, wash their hands often, cover their mouths when coughing or sneezing, stay at home when ill and greet people without handshakes during flu season.
For more information, contact the department at 866-275-0246.
