Constella Group, LLC, a leading global provider of professional health services, has won a five-year, $25 million contract with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to provide information technology and data management services to the organization's Center for Substance Abuse and Prevention (CSAP). CSAP works with states, regions and communities to develop, implement and measure the effectiveness of their substance abuse prevention programs.
Constella will support CSAP's Data Coordination and Consolidation Center (DCCC), a centralized repository used to store all information related to establishing and monitoring substance abuse prevention programs.
"We are pleased that SAMHSA has chosen Constella to help build resources for substance abuse prevention programs," said Constella Group Chairman and CEO Donald A. Holzworth. "Substance abuse is one of the largest health issues affecting our society today, and we believe we will enhance the health of thousands of people across the country by supporting SAMHSA's mission."
Constella's specific responsibilities include developing a Web-based training and technical assistance program for CSAP grantees and the prevention field, creating an online system for collecting and reporting prevention program results, consolidating old reporting methods into this new system, and producing analytical reports and presentation materials about the program's progress. Constella will also provide budget-related services and logistical support for CSAP-sponsored meetings and conferences.
"This work continues to build our exceptional credentials in applying information technology solutions to human health," said Chris LeGrand, president of Constella Health Sciences, the business unit leading this effort. "We look forward to significantly expanding our relationship with SAMHSA."
Constella is partnering with CDM Group, Human Services Research Institute and McFarland Associates to execute the contract. Each of these companies has worked with SAMHSA in the past in the areas of prevention and treatment evaluation, program evaluation and national outcome measurement.
