Convenient, Comprehensive Evaluation and Treatment Center Now Available Locally
Sleep HealthCenters(R), a network of specialized sleep medicine centers and the largest provider of such services in Massachusetts, has announced the opening of its new Beverly center. The seventh Sleep HealthCenter in the state, the new Beverly facility serves patients with a wide range of sleep problems, including insomnia, obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome and more. Sleep-related problems such as these, which can seriously impact a person's quality of life, can be diagnosed and treated at the new center, which is located at 900 Cummings Center, Suite 112T.
Medical Director for Sleep HealthCenters, Dr. Lawrence Epstein, said, "Our new sleep center in Beverly offers both local convenience and the full range of diagnostic and treatment services to those living north of Boston." Dr. Epstein, the current President of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, continued, "Anyone can have a sleep disorder -- people in their 20's, as well as those in middle age and older. Sleep deprivation can affect every aspect of a person's life, and, if not treated, can put some people at great risk of other health problems. We urge those who suspect they have a sleep problem to speak to their own doctor or get evaluated by a sleep professional."
The Beverly facility has six hotel-like sleeping rooms, each with private bathroom and shower, where sleep studies are conducted in a noise-free environment. The lab is managed by Patricia Hughes, RPSGT, RRT. Highly trained and experienced Sleep HeathCenters technicians use state-of-the-art diagnostic technology to conduct all sleep studies. There are also four clinic rooms where patients meet with clinical staff for initial evaluations and also for personalized follow-up care. Services offered at the new Beverly center include sleep diagnostics, physician consultations, treatment including CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) set ups for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) patients, patient monitoring and education. Follow-up is included to ensure individuals continue to have success with their treatment plans.
Joan Desmarais of Haverhill, a patient, commented, "I'm so pleased that a Sleep HealthCenter has opened closer to my home. It will be very convenient for me because I won't have the travel time and expense to worry about, and I can enjoy the same quality of care that is provided by all Sleep HealthCenters."
Paul S. Valentine, President and CEO of Sleep HealthCenters, said, "In our continuing efforts to bring high quality, comprehensive sleep medicine services to more communities in the state, we are very pleased to be opening our new Beverly center."
Sleep HealthCenters maintains close contact with a patient's own referring physician throughout the entire process of evaluation and treatment, providing reports on a regular basis. Services are covered by most medical insurance plans.
Sleep HealthCenters continues to expand, and now has seven sleep medicine centers throughout eastern Massachusetts. It is affiliated with the Brigham & Women's Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Faulkner Hospital, McLean Hospital, and Hallmark Health.
