Health Advantage has successfully implemented Release 2.0 of the AMISYS Advance payer software system, which provides enhanced scalability and features a state-of-the-art browser-based graphical user interface. Health Advantage is jointly owned by USAble Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and Baptist Medical System HMO, Inc. Health Advantage, the largest and oldest health maintenance organization (HMO) in Arkansas, will process claims for more than 140,000 members using AMISYS Advance. The application will support Health Advantage’s complete range of business for fully and self insured groups that include billing, enrollment, membership, claims and capitation processes as well as a full array of electronic processes.

"We are very pleased that ASI not only committed the financial, human resources and technical resources to migrate the AMISYS Advance system to the new long-term platform and operating system, but likewise delivered on what they committed to. This represents continued evidence of their executive leadership’s reliability and integrity," said Joseph Smith, Chief Information Officer of Arkansas Blue Cross.

Al Gain, ASI’s Vice President of Technical Services, said that ASI and Health Advantage formed a strong business alliance early on to accomplish this success. Upon agreement from Health Advantage to beta test AMISYS Advance Release 2, ASI began assisting them with custom code migration and full implementation activities.

"This makes our 10th successful implementation this year," Gain said. "ASI is strongly positioned to complete the remaining implementations for all its AMISYS Advance customers." Health Advantage utilized ASI’s Technical Services team for expert migration services, which included completion of environmental set-up services, data migration services, project management and technical support services, system capacity evaluation and system administration services. ASI’s Technical Services team also supplied migration developers to augment Health Advantage’s existing staff.

AMISYS Advance Release 2.0 provides a single, easily sharable solution that enables users from any remote location to readily access the application. The application’s J2EE Web services architecture with browser-based user interface delivers the capabilities necessary to easily customize the look and feel of the product, in addition to enhancing the overall ease of integration with third party applications.
