University of MD Receives Grant to Study Causes of Preterm Birth

The University of Maryland Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences received a $2.8 million grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to fund a five-year, multi-center study that will look for clues into the causes of preterm birth, an increasing problem affecting 12 percent of pregnancies in the United States.
