Hospitals Get Patient Order

October 30, 2005

HOSPITALS in the North East have been ordered to process transfers of patients from Monaghan General Hospital.

The HSE said hospital managers, directors of nursing and medical boards in the region have been sent a directive.

It follows the case of Carrickmacross man Patrick Walsh, 75, who bled to death when a bid to transfer him for surgery failed. It emerged there were beds in Cavan and Drogheda.
