Fidelis Care Selects HealthTrio Connect(TM) to Offer Providers Online Services

Posted on: Tuesday, 1 November 2005, 06:00 CST

New York statewide health plan selects HealthTrio based on proven user adoption, advanced technology and feature-rich functionality

HealthTrio, a leading provider of e-health and core business solutions for the managed care industry, and Fidelis Care, the New York State Catholic Health Plan, announced the selection of HealthTrio connect(TM), patent pending, to provide online services to its provider network. Implementation is scheduled for early 2006.

HealthTrio connect is a fully integrated e-health solution enabling two-way communication between Fidelis Care and health care providers. Fidelis Care providers will be able to use HealthTrio connect to exchange information quickly and accurately, reducing the need for paper and phone-based transactions. The feature-rich functionality will enable providers to perform eligibility and benefits inquiries, view and process referrals and authorizations, perform claims status inquiries and claims submissions, and send and receive secure messages.

"We are proud to be working with HealthTrio to help our providers handle administrative functions in the most efficient manner through advanced Internet technology," said Fidelis Care President and CEO Mark L. Lane. "Working with providers in the most responsive, efficient way possible is one of our top priorities as a growing health plan."

"HealthTrio is pleased to be working with Fidelis Care to implement technological innovations that maximize productivity," said Malik Hasan, M.D., President and CEO of HealthTrio. "By enabling providers to complete administrative tasks with a point and click instead of using the phone, HealthTrio connect will help Fidelis Care achieve lower costs and increase provider satisfaction."

As a second phase of this implementation, Fidelis Care and HealthTrio will be partnering to assess the viability of providing Internet-based health records to the Medicaid population. HealthTrio personal health care management functionality enables health plan members to become more proactive in managing and improving their own health and wellness. The online personal health record (PHR) combines clinical data with information from the member or provider to create a secure, comprehensive view of the member's health. Members and providers work together to create care plans and use these tools to stay well and keep on track toward improved health.
