Website opens to promote traditional Chinese medicine
BEIJING, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- China's watchdog for traditional herbal medicine opened here Tuesday an official website to promote the county's thousand-year long herbal medicine services.
The website provides detailed information on renowned herbalist doctors, research organizations and institutes of traditional Chinese medicine.
"Many patients want to seek help from traditional Chinese medicine therapies but do not know where to locate helpful information," said Li Zhenji, vice chairman of China Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (CFCMS), who praised the medicine as having unique advantages.
Titled "Famous & Prominent Doctors in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in China Portal", the website is expected to help patients through making available detailed information on 168 institutes of provincial or above levels as well as 2,319 experienced doctors.
"People can find on the website reliable information on traditional Chinese medicine that boasts the widest range," said Li said, claiming that the website will also be a powerful channel for international exchanges on traditional Chinese medicine.
