Day Haven Adult Day Services in Port Jefferson, run by the Community Programs Center of Long Island, will offer several events designed for families that care for an elderly person with Alzheimer's disease.
On Nov. 10, Day Haven will participate in the Alzheimer's Foundation of America's National Commemorative Candle Lighting. The ceremony is meant for families to take a moment and honor those who have been affected by Alzheimer's.
On Nov. 17, Day Haven will offer two seminars to families. One will focus on protecting families from identity theft and the other on elder law and estate planning.
Lastly, on Nov. 29 the center will offer a seminar on the different medications available for sufferers of Alzheimer's or dementia.
