New LexisNexis Accurint Health Care, a Centralized, Multidisciplinary Desktop Insurance Management Tool for Health Care Payers

LexisNexis U.S., a leading provider of legal, news, business information and risk management services, announced the release today of Accurint(R) Health Care. Accurint Health Care provides health care payers with a secure desktop solution for post-underwriting verification, contestability investigation, claim adjudication and processing -- plus waste and abuse; fraud prevention, detection and investigation; and patient and provider verification/validation. The application is designed to significantly facilitate access to mission critical information at the point of need, substantially enhancing user decision-making capabilities for positive outcomes.

Accurint Health Care also incorporates capabilities to locate, verify, validate and investigate individuals, health care-related entities, and their assets to assist in the quest of reducing the enormous annual health care expense associated with the delivery and administration of health care. Furthermore, Accurint Health Care also helps reduce the impact of waste, abuse and fraud, plus the inherent slippage built into the overwhelming annual volume of claims transactions.

New Powerful Search Features

Nationwide Provider Licensing Search defines a wide range of provider types and supplies in-depth information about individuals and entities including demographics, board certifications, and DEA licensing.

Nationwide Sanctions Search provides insight across multiple disciplines including Physicians, Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, Podiatrists, among others, from January 2001 forward, revealing sanctioning board actions from reprimands to revocations.

SIRIS was developed by LexisNexis in collaboration with the NHCAA, and is powered by LexisNexis as a public service to the health care insurance community. Users can expect continuous system enhancements with the addition of new data and tools directed to health care payer needs. Members of the National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association (NHCAA), who are part of the Association's anti-fraud information sharing initiative, will have the option of direct access to another newly released collaborative tool, Special Investigation Resource and Intelligence System (SIRIS). SIRIS is designed to assist in the tracking and identification of potentially fraudulent heath care cases and schemes.

Business InstantID verifies, validates and facilitates exploration of the linkage between a vendor/business and it s authorized representative(s) and evaluates any inconsistency indicative of potential fraudulent activity such as a provider of self-referral.

Accurint(R) Watchdog keeps track of accounts and provides notification when a new telephone, address, name, property transaction, vehicle registration, change or bankruptcy filing occurs.

Additional capabilities include People and Business in the News, Court Filings (civil and criminal, county and federal), and many reports that quickly identify connections among people, businesses, assets and locations that heretofore required hours and days to link.
