POZEN Names Dr. Elly Savaluny As Vice President, Biostatistics and Data Management

POZEN Inc. (NASDAQ: POZN), a pharmaceutical company focused primarily on products for the treatment of migraine, acute and chronic pain and other pain-related conditions, today announced the appointment of Elly Savaluny, Ph.D. as Vice President, Biostatistics and Data Management. Dr. Savaluny will be responsible for the data management and statistical analysis of clinical trials to support New Drug Application (NDA) submissions to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and submissions to other worldwide regulatory agencies.

Dr. Savaluny was most recently employed at the Swiss-based pharmaceutical company Novartis Consumer Health SA as global head of clinical operations, biostatistics and data management. In this capacity, Dr. Savaluny was responsible for the management of clinical operations in Europe and the United States. Prior to joining Novartis in 2001, Dr. Savaluny held senior level positions at Pfizer Central Research in the United Kingdom and F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. in Basel, Switzerland.
Dr. Savaluny received a Ph.D. from the University of Reading, an M.Sc. in Medical Statistics from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a Graduate Diploma in Statistics from Portsmouth University.
