Resolution Health Sponsors NY Business Group on Health Event Featuring Horizon Healthcare Services Patient Communications Program; Thursday, December 8, 2005, 8-10 AM
Posted on: Thursday, 10 November 2005, 12:00 CST
The New York Business Group on Health (NYBGH), a not-for-profit coalition of 150 businesses and the only organization in the New York metropolitan area exclusively devoted to employer health benefit issues, will host a breakfast meeting for employers, "Targeted and Personalized Patient Communications Reduce Costs, Improve Quality," Thursday, December 8, 2005, 8-10 a.m., The Association of the Bar of the City of New York, 42 West 44th Street (between 5th and 6th Aves). Sponsored by Resolution Health, Inc. (RHI), a healthcare data analytic and intervention company serving risk-bearing organizations, the event will feature an innovative communication program conducted by Horizon Healthcare Services, Inc.
Minalkumar Patel, M.D., MPH, President and COO, Horizon Healthcare Insurance Company of New York (Horizon Healthcare), will present a case study that validates the success of RHI's targeted patient and physician communications and profiling analyses in reducing healthcare costs and improving healthcare quality. Dr. Patel was an executive medical director of Horizon Healthcare Services before becoming president of Horizon Healthcare, a wholly-owned subsidiary. From this case study, employers will have a better understanding of factors that impact non-compliance with evidence-based treatments or protocols, from both patient and physician perspectives, and appreciate the cost of non-compliance to employers and the health plan.
"Targeted, personalized communications are proving to be highly effective in driving compliance with clinical guidelines and treatment recommendations," says Dan Heneghan, RHI vice president, who will accompany Dr. Patel. "Horizon Healthcare Service's experience documents the value of RHI's sophisticated analytics to identify patient- and condition-specific information which serves as a platform for disseminating actionable communications that help to align patient care with best medical practices and bring down the cost of care."
The program will provide examples of direct-to-member messaging, explain their role in empowering patients to make behavioral changes that enhance compliance, and articulate the associated ROI for implementing intervention strategies.
