ParadigmHealth announced a new agreement with Keystone Mercy Health Plan to offer its Neonatal Intensive Care Management to the plan's medical assistance members at select Philadelphia-area hospitals. A leading disease management company focused on improving the lives of intensive and clinically complex patients and their families, ParadigmHealth initiated services under this new agreement for Keystone Mercy members on November 1st.
"We look forward to beginning this new relationship with ParadigmHealth and are excited to provide their care management services to our members with babies in the NICU," says Humberto Guerra-Garcia, MD, MPH, Acting Chief Medical Officer. "Our partnership will offer us a cost-effective means of continuing to promote quality care outcomes in the NICU and through a baby's transition home, increase family education and involvement, and offer our members the on-site support of a ParadigmHealth nurse care manager."
Under the agreement, ParadigmHealth's board-certified neonatologists, neonatal nurse care managers and nationally recognized pediatric specialists will work closely with Keystone Mercy's members, nurses and attending physicians to promote superior medical outcomes for premature and medically complex newborns in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) and special care nurseries. As part of ParadigmHealth's integrated approach, each infant and his or her family will be assigned a dedicated nurse care manager who will work in collaboration with physicians and nurses to assist and educate parents/caregivers throughout the infant's hospital stay and discharge home.
"We look forward to working with Keystone Mercy to further their mission of providing accessible, quality health care to their members," says John Penrose, CEO of ParadigmHealth. "Having managed over 65,000 infants to date, we look forward to utilizing our clinical experience to achieve superior medical outcomes and strong parental/caregiver education and support."
ParadigmHealth's programs focus on the management of the most clinically complex, highest cost medical events, including individuals with end-stage illnesses, severe burns, multiple trauma, brain and spinal cord injuries, and infants in neonatal intensive care units. The company also utilizes its web-based technology to assist clients with the identification, risk stratification, triage and management of their members involved in internal and outsourced disease management programs.
