Amisys Synertech Inc. (ASI) Chosen By Preferred Care to Provide Consumer-Directed Healthcare Administration Services

Posted on: Friday, 18 November 2005, 12:00 CST

Preferred Care, which serves the healthcare needs of more than 268,000 individuals throughout the Greater Rochester New York region, has selected ASI to provide comprehensive consumer-directed healthcare (CDH) administration services in support of their new CDH product, CareFund from Preferred Care.

Under the terms of the agreement, ASI will provide Preferred Care with an integrated CDH administration solution that includes provision of industry-leading software as well as comprehensive services:

-- HRA Support - including group entry, fund management, HRA claims processing and reporting for HRA accounts.

-- HSA Support - including enrollment services, HSA claims processing, management of withdrawals, distributions and contributions, web-based account holder services and reporting for HSA accounts. HSA custodial services and debit card services are provided through ASI's strategic partnerships with Mellon and Evolution Benefits.

"Preferred Care is pleased with the integrated approach that ASI is able to offer our CareFund members with their HSA and HRA processing capabilities," said Patrick Glavey, Vice President, Sales and Marketing. "Partnering with ASI seemed like a logical extension of our existing relationship with Amisys, who provides our claims processing software. This relationship allows us to concentrate on what we do best -- serving the health care needs of our members, -- and lets us feel confident that ASI will take care of the HSA and HRA account processing and reporting."

"We are very pleased to extend our relationship with Preferred Care to include administration of their CDH product," said Kathy McCarthy, ASI's Senior Vice President of Implementation and Customer Service. "We are confident that we can assist Preferred Care in ensuring a successful entry into this market."

ASI currently administers CDH programs for nearly 300,000 consumer-directed members. At the forefront of the consumer-directed healthcare movement since its inception, ASI has supported the exponential growth of consumer-directed programs by continually developing and enhancing its comprehensive product offering, which now includes:

-- HSA, HRA and FSA administration

-- Consumer-centric decision support and health and wellness tools

-- Self-service Web capabilities

-- Integrated debit card solutions

-- Streamlined funds management with banking integration
