Chinese experts convene to study treatment of human bird flu.
BEIJING, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Eleven renowned Chinese experts of epidemics, respiratory diseases, emergency treatment and traditional Chinese medicine met here Friday at a symposium to study the treatment of human infections of bird flu.
So far, China has reported three confirmed human cases of bird flu with two deaths, according to China's Health Ministry.
At the symposium, experts were drafting a more efficient clinical treatment plan intended to reduced bird flu fatalities in the future.
Experts called for more manpower investment and therapies combining both western and traditional Chinese medicine, a treatment plan with Chinese characteristics providing vigorous technical support for China to combat the spread of bird flu, sources with Ministry of Science and Technology said Friday.
A clinical treatment program on influenza and human bird flu was initiated at the symposium.
