DAYTON, Ohio, Dec. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Standard Register received the Top Medical Surgical Vendor for 2005 award from Shared Services Healthcare, Inc. (SSH), a Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) comprised of leading healthcare institutions located in the southeast United States. SSH is an affiliate of MedAssets. The recognition, which is based on increase in sales revenue during the past year, was announced recently at the Shared Services Healthcare annual meeting in Ponte Vedra, Fla. Last year, Standard Register was honored by SSH as one of its suppliers of the year.
"Shared Services Healthcare has a very long and successful relationship with Standard Register and was pleased to be able to recognize them as our top purchasing contract this year," said Sandra Green, CEO, Shared Services Healthcare. "Standard Register was the first contract we negotiated to open our company in 1974. It has been a successful relationship and one that we look forward to for many more years to come."
Serving hospitals, surgery centers, long-term care facilities, closed-door provider pharmacies, and other alternate care markets in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee and the Carolinas, SSH is an industry leader in assisting healthcare facilities in overall cost containment.
"Shared Services has played a major role in Standard Register's healthcare growth in the Southeast during the past 31 years," said Dave Freshwater, Standard Register's manager of GPO operations. "Our longstanding relationship with them provides total solutions that improve the processes of our mutual clients while reducing their overall costs."
