OTN Appoints Kimberly A. Bergstrom, Pharm.D., As Chief Clinical Officer

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Dec. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- OTN (Oncology Therapeutics Network), a leading independent oncology services company, today announced the appointment of Kimberly A. Bergstrom, Pharm.D., as Chief Clinical Officer. Dr. Bergstrom has more than 20 years of healthcare experience, including 11 years of experience developing oncology clinical services and programs. At OTN, Dr. Bergstrom will develop and implement the clinical strategy for OTN's customer segments, including physicians, nurses, practice administrators, payors and manufacturers. Her responsibilities will include the development of clinical technology and infrastructure solutions for customers, clinical information and reporting services development, and clinical programs development, including advisory boards and medical education for OTN and Onmark, OTN's group purchasing organization (GPO).

Dr. Bergstrom joined OTN from the National Oncology Alliance (NOA), a GPO focused on community oncology, where she served as Vice President of Clinical Services and a member of the executive management team. During her tenure at NOA, she developed a complete set of clinical services offerings, programs and tools for community-based medical oncology practices.

Prior to joining NOA, Dr. Bergstrom held senior positions at First DataBank, a leading electronic drug database company, and YourDoctor.com, an internet-based healthcare portal for patients. Earlier, she spent five years with OnCare, where she developed cancer-specific treatment guidelines and clinical decision support tools, including chemotherapy ordering and scheduling software. As Vice President of Disease Management at OnCare, she was responsible for directing all clinical outcomes studies for community- based oncology practitioners, including those for breast, lung, colon, rectal, ovarian, head and neck cancers and supportive care therapies. She has also served as Director of Pharmaceutical Services at Mount Zion Medical Center of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).
Dr. Bergstrom received her Doctorate in Pharmacy degree from UCSF, where she also completed a clinical residency and specialty residency in pharmacy administration. She currently serves as an adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor at UCSF, School of Pharmacy.
