Be Considerate of Joggers and Bike Riders

Be considerate of joggers and bike riders

I am writing this letter on behalf of joggers and bikers in surrounding parishes. I jog in my neighborhood frequently. Its a quiet neighborhood with one road in and out, and little traffic. However, the traffic that blows by me on my morning jogs is of great concern to me. There is no shoulder on the road and no sidewalk. People behind the wheels of these two-ton vehicles, do you realize just one slip of your wheel and you can careen over to me and kill me? Or I may accidentally stumble and fall into the path of your monster truck. We joggers and bikers are merely asking you to take it down to 15 or 20 mph and steer clear of us when you near us. It will only take 5-10 seconds out of your busy day to slow down and show concern for your fellow human being. When I drive by joggers or walkers, I slow down to almost a complete stop, its just common sense AND common courtesy. I am hoping my neighbors recognize themselves in this letter. My dog, Babe, and I would appreciate it greatly. Enjoy a safe driving, biking and jogging holiday. Merry Christmas.
