PacifiCare Foundation Shows Support for Phoenix Community-Based Organizations With $9,000 in Contributions

PHOENIX, Dec. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The PacifiCare Foundation, a nonprofit organization established by PacifiCare Health Systems Inc., a UnitedHealthcare company, contributes $9,000 to two community-based organizations in Phoenix.
Volunteer Center of Maricopa County received a $4,000 donation to help recruit 32 teen volunteers who will provide reading sessions and mentoring to 32 grade K-3 students. A $5,000 grant was awarded to the Wellness Community Central Arizona to help facilitate the organization's Teen Cancer Survivor Support Groups and promote them to teen cancer survivors.
