Suspected bird flu patient dies in Indonesia
JAKARTA, Jan. 2 (Xinhua) -- A man who allegedly developed bird flu symptoms died Monday at a hospital in Indonesia, where at least 11 people have been confirmed died of the disease.
Mahalis, 39, died within nine hours after he was admitted to the Sulianti Saroso Hospital here.
"The patient was strongly suspected of having bird flu based on an x-ray examination that showed worse pneumonia," said Dr. Ilham Patu who heads the Bird Flu Surveillance Team with the hospital.
