Meningitis Bug Kills Child, 6

A CHILD aged six has died from meningitis in Hesketh Bank, near Southport.

The child, who has not been named, is believed to have died over the Christmas period from a bacterial form of the disease.

Doctors described the death as “an isolated event” as it was not a contagious strain of the b ug.
