Dr. Gowen will highlight GSK’s new all-partnering research center, discussing its innovative out-partnering ideas, to over 200 senior executives from leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology, drug delivery and specialty pharmaceutical companies.
Dr. Gowen joins Robert Stein, MD, PhD, President, Roche Palo Alto, and Anthony Rosenberg, Global Head of Business Development and Licensing, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, as keynote speakers. “The Pharmaceutical Strategic Outlook conference focuses on understanding the rationale behind the best and most interesting strategic alliances and acquisitions of 2005, and will examine the outlook for 2006,” said Roger Longman, Managing Partner of Windhover Information Inc. The meeting will emphasize deal structure, using carefully-chosen case studies from recent transactions among major pharmaceutical, biotechnology, drug delivery, large molecule and specialty pharmaceutical companies. The event will examine how these organizations evaluate in-licensing opportunities and assess risk. Individual presentations will illuminate how dealmakers handle challenging contract issues like non-competes, penalties, patent rights, and change of control.
The conference will combine Windhover’s usual top level analysis of deal trends and deal design, alongside first-rate networking opportunities with senior level entrepreneurs, executives and investors throughout the three days.
