Health Net Federal Services Receives URAC Utilization & Case Management Accreditations
Posted on: Friday, 20 January 2006, 09:00 CST
Health Net Federal Services (HNFS) announced today that URAC, a Washington, D.C.-based health care accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the health care industry, awarded HNFS Utilization Management and Case Management Accreditations.
URAC's Case Management Accreditation standards provide a solid foundation for effective case management programs. URAC Health Utilization Management Accreditation provides assurance to patients, providers, purchasers, regulators and employers that the practices of the organization performing these services are fair and equitable for all parties.
"We are very pleased to have achieved these two accreditations in addition to the URAC Health Network accreditation that we received in June of 2005. We approached all three accreditations from a standpoint of continuous quality improvement," said Ray Nan Berry, vice president, Quality, HNFS. "URAC's confirmation of our compliance to these industry-benchmarked practices affirms our commitment to quality health care services."
TRICARE is the health care program for active duty and retirees of the uniformed services, their families, and survivors. TRICARE's primary objectives are to optimize the delivery of health care services in the military's direct care system for all Military Health System (MHS) beneficiaries and attain the highest level of patient satisfaction through the delivery of a world-class health care benefit. TRICARE brings together the health care resources of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard, and supplements them with networks of civilian health care professionals in order to provide access to high quality health care services while maintaining the capability to support military operations.
"Health Net Federal Services should be commended for meeting strict quality standards," said Charles Stellar, URAC Board Chair. "It is critically important for health care organizations to make a commitment to quality and accountability. URAC accreditation is a demonstration of that commitment."
