USM Lifeline Center Offering Fitness Programs

The University of Southern Maine Lifeline Center for Wellness and Health Promotion is offering several fitness programs at the USM Sullivan Complex on Falmouth Street.

Lifetime fitness program, 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, is a group exercise program for adults ages 50 and older, with exercises designed to improve strength, balance, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness.

For beginning exercisers, Lifestride, offered at 6:15 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, is a moderate-level 45- minute fitness walking program that will include calisthenics, stretches, and the use of light weights.

On the Ball, 6:15 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, is a group exercise program that utilizes a Fit Ball to increase core and functional strength, as well as flexibility and balance.
