Last year, the medical center initiated a top-down Balanced Scorecard project to define its performance measures and focus on operational performance across all departments. To complement and extend this initiative, the medical center looked for a solution that would be able to pull together disparate data sources and establish a sustainable analytic data warehouse to support the scorecard in real-time with the most up-to-date financial and patient information. The ability to integrate plan and forecast data in the data warehouse was also an imperative. The CBH and Cognos solution was selected as the medical center's standard following lengthy and robust competitive analysis. A Platinum partner of Cognos, CBH was selected due to their technical product strengths and industry experience implementing similar solutions at organizations such as Kaiser Permanente and Scan Health Plans.
