Bayer drug doubles kidney failure risk: study

BOSTON (Reuters) – The Bayer drug Trasylol, widely given to
heart surgery patients to prevent excessive blood loss, doubles
the risk of kidney failure and stroke, researchers reported on
Wednesday.
It also raises the chance of heart failure or heart attack
by 55 percent, according to the study published in this week’s
New England Journal of Medicine.
