Announcing the Grand Opening: Pacific Coast Imaging and Heart Institute in Newport Beach
Posted on: Tuesday, 31 January 2006, 12:00 CST
Pacific Coast Imaging of Irvine and Pacific Coast Cardiology of Newport Beach are pleased to announce the opening of their new joint facility. The Pacific Coast Imaging & Heart Institute, located at 3300 West Coast Highway in Newport Beach, will encompass the best in service and technology for patients in need of imaging and cardiology care. The luxurious new facility will open its doors to the public on Feb. 3, 2006. A ribbon-cutting event for the new center hosted by the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce will take place at the new facility on Friday, Feb. 3 at 4 p.m.
The Pacific Coast Imaging and Heart Institute is an incredible facility: the nearly 20,000-square-foot space looks and feels more like a spa than what it actually is -- the most advanced private, freestanding outpatient imaging and cardiology facility in Southern California. Some of Orange County's top cardiologists provide outstanding patient care, and sub-specialty trained radiologists provide multi-faceted imaging expertise, including extensive cumulative experience in oncological imaging. The facility will be home to some of the most advanced imaging equipment in the world, including:
-- The most advanced non-invasive cardiac imaging that detects cardiac disease much earlier than standard methods, obviating the need for catheterization.
-- 64-slice CT scanner. Considered a major scientific breakthrough, PCI's 64-slice computerized tomography (CT) scanner can complete an exquisitely detailed full-body scan in 20 seconds and a heart scan in eight seconds. Uniquely, the scans are interpreted by collaboration of cardiologists and radiologists.
-- MRI. PCI houses two MRI whole-body scanners, including an open 1.5 Tesla system, which is the most advanced and powerful open scanner presently available, in addition to the cutting-edge 3.0 Tesla system, which is the highest-field magnet approved by the FDA, that provides more accurate and faster images. These MRI machines would also be used for cardiac and breast MRI, which are the latest, most promising new imaging techniques.
-- Fusion Imaging. PCI's PET/CT scanner combines positron emission tomography (PET) and computerized tomography (CT) into one unit. Utilizing the most advanced crystal and electronics technology available today, the PET/CT scanner collects and correlates both anatomical and metabolic information into a fused, three-dimensional image during a single, non-invasive examination. This technology is uniquely suited for non-invasive detection of coronary artery disease, early detection of cancer and groundbreaking diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease.
-- Ultrasound. Known primarily for its use in monitoring fetal development, ultrasound also plays a critical role in diagnosing problems related to the heart, vascular system, musculoskeletal system, abdomen, prostate and breast.
-- Diagnostic X-Rays. Equipped with the latest X-ray equipment available, PCI utilizes digital technology; resulting in X-rays of superb clarity, which can be digitally stored and transmitted.
-- Digital Imaging. All imaging studies are made available to referring and consulting physicians via secure access through the Internet, allowing improved communication and patient care. To create an efficient and environmentally friendly office, the entire facility is paperless; utilizing electronic medical records (EMR).
The new center will offer same-day appointments and extended hours, personal service, and easy parking -- not to mention extra touches like lush bathrobes and beautiful surroundings. Pictures, tours, interviews with founders Dr. Emanuel Shaoulian and Dr. Michael Radin, and additional information about the new facility are available; please contact Kate Jennings at 949-223-6455 for more information.
