ANN ARBOR, Mich., Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- M-CARE, the nonprofit health plan owned by the University of Michigan, today announced a partnership with Subimo, LLC, of Chicago to offer the company's suite of online health management tools to its more than 220,000 members.
With Treatment Cost Advisor(TM), M-CARE members can view treatment options and cost estimates for a variety of health conditions while Hospital Comparison Advisor allows them to research and compare hospitals based on a variety of factors, ranging from clinical outcomes to patient safety. Current and prospective members can also evaluate M-CARE plans through Coverage Advisor(TM), which allows them to create customized family health profiles as well as estimate necessary services, costs, and out-of-pocket expenses.
Hospital Comparison Advisor and Treatment Cost Advisor are available to M-CARE members exclusively through M-CARE Connect, the organization's secure member portal, while Coverage Advisor can be accessed through mcare.org, the organization's website, as well as M-CARE Connect. Members registered with M-CARE Connect can also review claims history, view authorizations, check deductible and out-of-pocket balances, see a list of eligible dependents, and complete a confidential health survey.
"The addition of these tools to our website makes it much easier for our members to get the information they need to make important decisions about various facets of their health care," said Lynn Rust Henderson, vice president of business development at M-CARE. "Our members can now -- at their own convenience, 24 hours a day, seven days a week -- evaluate treatment options, costs, and hospitals. In addition, both our current and prospective members will appreciate the opportunity to estimate the costs associated with the various M-CARE plans that are available to them."
"Subimo is pleased to be part of M-CARE's ongoing focus and commitment to provide relevant information on quality and cost to its membership," said Ann Mond Johnson, CEO of Subimo. "Subimo's tools will help support their vast membership by making sure they have the information they need to make better-informed health care choices for their families."
