RemedyMD Launches Product That Adds Specificity to Enterprise Clinical Systems

SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- RemedyMD, an innovative provider of decision support tools for clinicians, today announced SMART EHR(TM), a specialty, condition, and disease specific software product that adds specificity to enterprise clinical systems. SMART EHR expands RemedyMD's product portfolio by adding another key component targeted at hospitals and large clinics.

RemedyMD leverages the SMART name to demonstrate that intelligent healthcare systems must meet these criteria:

SMART EHR adds specialty-specific content to general clinical systems. For example, if the hospital or large clinic treats a large volume of diabetic patients, this product will enable their clinical system to capture, display, and report more specific findings that are relevant to the management of diabetes.

It also enhances existing information by enabling patient behavior management, improved patient communication and increases patients' involvement in their own healthcare. SMART EHR is integrated with RemedyMD's myHealthManager(TM) patient portal. Patients whose information is stored in an existing EMR are also able to use the patient portal through SMART EHR.

This new product aggregates information from other providers, research systems, patient portals, devices, and other clinical systems. It delivers a seamless connection to other clinical and research repositories. It includes the patient portal to collect specific patient information regarding their history and daily behaviors.

SMART EHR adds context to patient information. By the addition of large volumes of relevant patient information, the system sifts through the information to recognize hidden patterns. These predictive informatics tools assist in recognizing patterns earlier, which leads to better decisions.

The system tracks outcomes in order to improve quality. Users learn what treatments have the best outcomes for specific patients. Access to this personalized medicine enables quality improvements and more successful outcomes.
