Feb. 17--Two men were arraigned in St. Louis County District Court on Thursday on charges related to a methamphetamine lab and marijuana-growing operation uncovered in the Woodland neighborhood.

Stephen Thomas Foster, 29, of Isabella is charged with two counts of first-degree manufacture of methamphetamine, possession and sale of marijuana and four counts of possessing a pistol without a permit.

Aaron John Butkovich, 34, of Duluth is charged with first-degree manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of substances with intent to manufacture methamphetamine and sale of marijuana.

Foster is an unemployed construction worker and Butkovich said he had been working as a bricklayer, but also was unemployed. Both men will be represented by a public defender.

The men were being held in the St. Louis County Jail on $60,000 bail apiece. Their next court appearances are scheduled for March 6.

Investigators with the Lake Superior Drug and Gang Task Force executed a search warrant at the residence at 533 W. Redwing St. on Monday. About 98 marijuana plants and methamphetamine in its final stages of cooking were seized.
