Tai Chi Offered at Health Campus

Registration is being accepted for a four-week tai chi class that meets for one hour at 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 4 to 25, at the second floor, Wellness Center, Lancaster General Health Campus, 2100 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster. Tai chi, pronounced tie chee, is an ancient Chinese form of martial arts that uses movement and breath work for stretching and relaxation, while enhancing the mind, body and spirit connection
. Using slow, gentle movements, tai chi promotes flexibility, reduces stress and is a form of meditation that can improve overall health and well-being. The class is taught by David S. Haines, who has taught tai chi workshops for the community and corporate sectors of Lancaster since 1988. Cost for the four-week session is $40.
