RESTON, Va. and GENEVA, Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Clinical Care Options (CCO), a leader in the development of innovative interactive medical education for healthcare professionals, has been selected by the International AIDS Society (IAS), the world's leading independent association of HIV/AIDS professionals and custodian and lead organizer of the International AIDS Conference, to provide official online scientific conference coverage for the XVI International AIDS Conference. The conference will be held in Toronto, Canada, August 13 through 18, 2006.

"We selected CCO as our partner because of its 16 year track record in providing high quality education in the HIV arena and its superior proposal to provide a comprehensive and innovative approach to cover AIDS 2006," said Craig McClure, executive director of the IAS. "We expect this important conference to attract more than 20,000 delegates from around the world. Ensuring that the participants who attend, as well as those who are not able to be in Toronto, have access to the latest scientific information is vital to the success of the conference and to the practice of HIV/AIDS patient care. We look forward to working with CCO on this critical endeavor in meeting the needs of physicians and scientists globally."

"We are very pleased that the IAS recognizes the CCO Conference Coverage model as a premier educational model and look forward to working with the IAS on this important scientific meeting," said Jeffrey L. Drezner, M.D., Ph.D., Clinical Care Options' chief executive officer and founder. "Our goal, aligned with the IAS, is to provide physicians around the world with the educational resources they need to provide state-of-the-art care for people with HIV."

Through this collaboration, conference delegates and CCO members will have direct access to the newest generation of online, interactive, multimedia, medical education programs that utilize the latest technology for translating scientific data into clinically useful information. The CCO approach of providing educational data via a variety of online components: capsule summaries, expert recaps and audio Podcasts allows delegates the opportunity to adopt the information in a manner that best meets their needs.
