Medeikon Announces New Associate Director of Software Development

Expanded Software Development Staff Positions Company for Advances in Diagnosis and Treatment of Cardiovascular Disease.

Dr. Zhenyu Wu, joined Medeikon as Associate Director of Software Development. Dr. Wu will be responsible for designing and developing a software subsystem for the XploraPD Console(TM). This system is designed to meet the specific needs of cardiologists through more powerful diagnostic capabilities that allow for advanced quantification to make faster and more specific treatment decisions.

Medeikon Corporation provides medical devices for physician diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Our initial emphasis is on vulnerable plaque, the leading cause of sudden cardiac death. Medeikon's XploraPD(TM) system distinguishes these rupture-prone lesions from other types of coronary artery tissue using optical technologies. This allows physicians make early and accurate diagnosis and then treat the condition with tools consistent with current cardiac catheterization techniques and equipment. Dr. Wu has extensive expertise in Medical Imaging, Computer Vision, Digital Video and Biometrics. Most recently, Wu served as the managing partner of MY EZ Communications, LLC, a small consulting firm developing advanced digital video solutions for law enforcement. Prior to that, Wu was involved in developing a revolutionary database management systems at RTI, serving as the technical lead in the query engine group. His extensive R&D experience also includes tenures with Siemens Corporate Research, Lockheed Martin Labs and IBM Research.

Medeikon is currently developing its technology and will license it to medical device manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies and other technology companies. Medeikon is a privately held company. Medeikon is currently engaged in a private placement for Round B financing, $15 million, through Janney Montgomery Scott LLC.
