Spacelabs Healthcare Launches New Wireless Patient Monitor: Continues Expansion of Wireless Monitoring Product Line

Posted on: Thursday, 23 February 2006, 09:01 CST

Spacelabs Healthcare, Inc., a subsidiary of OSI Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:OSIS), today announced its patient monitoring division, Spacelabs Medical, has launched internationally a new addition to the UltraviewSL(TM) line of patient monitors. The new UltraviewSL2600 is an advanced monitor with options that support Spacelabs' ongoing commitment to open standards and wireless connectivity bringing workstation functionality including charting and other hospital applications to the point of care.

The new UltraviewSL 2600 is designed to meet customer needs in a variety of care areas where connectivity and accessibility to patient data is essential. By utilizing the monitors' wireless connectivity, patient vital signs can be collected and displayed on central monitors while patients are being moved within the hospital environment. This seamless monitoring and collection of patient data through the Spacelabs' Intesys(R) Clinical Suite (ICS) of networked applications helps to enhance the standard of care and minimize interruptions in the automated collection of patient data.

Spacelabs Healthcare CEO, Mr. Deepak Chopra, said, "The Company is committed to enhancing our wireless monitoring product offering throughout our patient monitoring product line. This is demonstrated with the recent release of the wireless option for the UltraviewSL2400 series of compact monitors and todays announced release of the UltraviewSL2600. Our goal is to help clinicians stay connected to information so they can remain focused on patient care. The new UltraviewSL 2600 is the next step in supporting this goal."

The UltraviewSL 2600 provides clinicians with certain enhanced features compared to the UltraviewSL2400 compact monitors, primarily its WinDNA(R) software capability and a larger display screen. Spacelabs' proprietary WinDNA(R) software allows clinicians access to lab, radiology and patient records at the point of care. The larger display screen allows this information and patient data, including all 12 Leads of a 12-Lead ECG, to be displayed clearly at the bedside. The new UltraviewSL2600 is well-suited to a broad range of environments, including perioperative, emergency and neonatal care departments. The UltraviewSL 2600 is fully network compatible with all existing Spacelabs UltraviewSL, Ultraview(R) and PCMS(TM) central and bedside monitors.
