Optio Healthcare Solutions announced today Ivinson Memorial Hospital, a 108-licensed bed, QHR-managed facility in Laramie, Wyo., has selected the Optio QuickRecord(R) and MedEx(TM) Suites to provide electronic health record and forms automation solutions.
QHR, a leading provider of healthcare management services, has a strategic services partnership with Optio Software that enabled Ivinson to enter into this agreement. In the near future, Ivinson also plans to offer neighboring clinics and referring physicians the ability to securely access relevant patient information stored in QuickRecord Suite on a cost-effective, subscription basis.
"A single point of electronic access to current and historic medical records within our hospital will save time and resources, allowing caregivers, coding clerks and others to simultaneously access critical patient information," said Ivinson Memorial Hospital Chief Financial Officer Paul Zuidema. "Optio solutions will speed chart throughput, billing and payment as well as improve the quality of patient care. We're excited about the potential to improve continuity of care within our region by providing smaller facilities and referring physicians' offices with cost-effective access to electronic health record (EHR) solutions."
The Optio QuickRecord Suite will integrate with Ivinson's MEDITECH hospital information system (HIS) in admitting, laboratory, pharmacy and other areas. Ivinson will also implement Optio Patient Signature Capture(TM) to electronically collect patients' signed consents at the point of admission and provide access to these scanned documents within QuickRecord.
"We're pleased that our affordable, subscription-based solutions will play a key role in Ivinson Memorial Hospital's proactive approach to making EHR-enabling technologies available throughout Wyoming's rural communities," said Steve Woodis, Optio Healthcare sales director.
