Ghana: Strike By House Officers Affects Work at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital

The strike by house officers of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has affected work at the country’s premier hospital. Only emergency cases and patients on admission are being attended to. Out of the about 400 doctors and consultants 88 are house officers.
The authorities of the hospital have been holding discussions with the officers and are soliciting the assistance of the Ghana Medical Association to resolve the impasse over feeding grants. [Passage omitted]
