NutriSystem(R) hired a nationally renowned research company to independently prove its efficacy. The National Business Research Institute (NBRI) conducted a study of more than 2,500 NutriSystem (NASDAQ: NTRI) weight loss clients and found that people on average lost between 9 and 11 percent of their starting weight in 10-13 weeks.
According to the U.S. National Institutes of Health, "...your health can be greatly improved by a loss of 5-10 percent of your starting weight." The American Heart Association (AHA) agrees. The AHA says that, "In general, relative caloric restriction sufficient to produce weight reductions between 5 and 10 percent can reduce the risk factors for heart disease and stroke."
The study found that clients lost an average of 19.41 pounds in just under 12 weeks (11.9 weeks) on the NutriSystem weight loss program. Men on average lost 23.46 pounds, which is approximately 1.95 pounds per week and women on average lost 18.74 pounds in 12 weeks which comes to 1.56 pounds a week.
"It's important for people to be aware that losing around 20 pounds can make a huge difference in blood sugar levels, blood pressure and overall well being," said Dr. Jay Satz, NutriSystem vice president, program development. "This study shows that with NutriSystem, you can take off those pounds, which can contribute significantly to ones health," concludes Satz.
The study also revealed that an amazing 92 percent of NutriSystem clients who participated in the study would recommend the program to others. The program is easy to follow and offers a choice of 120 perfectly portioned foods to select from. The program is affordable too. Clients get breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert for only about $10.00 a day.
